Go Snow!!!

Since JR has been working about 16 hours a day for the past five weeks or so he decided to take the Monday after Easter off to spend with us. He surprised me and planned a trip to Snow College, where JR and I met. We really love Ephraim and Snow, so it was lots of fun taking the kids there. We ate at Fat Jacks Pizza and walked around campus. It was nice because it was during a school day there so we were able to see some of our old teachers and wander through some of the school buildings. I even got to see my old drill team teacher Kathleen Pili, and it just made me miss drill and school there at Snow even more. We really had a lot of fun and the kids enjoyed being outside and spending the day as a family.

I love the Noyes building. Not only is it beautiful, but it was right across the street from my college dorm my first year there and I got to stare out my window and see it every day. Lots of good memories!!!

In the Noyes Building.

The new bell tower. This wasn't there when I went to Snow, but it's pretty cool anyways :-).

Isaac had a blast walking around.

Kathleen and I. I miss Drill!

JR was taking all the pictures around campus, so I made him pose for one. Thanks sweetie for an awesome day!

Happy Happy Easter!

Easter was a lot of fun this year. We usually go to my grandparents ranch for the weekend, but we decided to spend this Easter with JR's family. Cali had a blast the Saturday before Easter doing an Easter egg hunt at the Petersons. Then on Easter Sunday, both Cali and Isaac enjoyed their Easter baskets and goodies. Here's a few pics of our Easter weekend:

Easter egg hunts are so much fun when you get to enjoy them vicariously through your kids :-). Cali had a blast at the Peterson family Easter egg hunt.

Cali and Aunt Anna hunting eggs.

Isaac hanging out with Grandma Peterson :-P.

Easter Sunday. Honestly, how cute are they! Who needs Easter
candy when you can just eat your kids up :-D.

Digging into their Easter baskets.

A princess watch in an egg. How cool is that!

All things princess: Enchanted DVD, a princess purse, and a princess watch. That Easter Bunny really knows how to make a girl happy!

Isaac's first Easter basket. He had alot of fun :-).

Had to include this one because...well, he's just too cute!

Brainshare Concert

I hate to rub it in, but the Brainshare concert was SO MUCH FUN!!! Frank Caliendo was hilarious and Collective Soul was so amazing live. The best part, though, was getting to meet them!!! Frank Caliendo actually ate dinner with our group before the concert and we got to take some pictures with him. He's way nice and, of course, totally funny. After the concert we got to go back stage and meet Collective Soul. We couldn't take pictures with our own camera, so once I get the professional photos back I'll be sure to post them. As crazy as they were in concert they were actually very very nice in person and it was really fun meeting them.

I was so excited to meet Frank. It was like I was in High School again! BTW - Jenny, I did that pose just for you :-).

Collective Soul put on a dang good concert. They rocked!

Collective Soul was the first CD JR ever bought.
He likes them a ton and this was the first concert of theirs he's ever been to. I think he looks pretty excited to be there!!!

Us at the concert. We had really good seats!

The Twilight Series

Ok, so I have so much to update on our blog, but I have been completely consumed for the past week and a half by the Twilight series. I blame it on my sister Nicky because she's the one who gave me the first book. Once I started reading it I had to get the other two! I've never been a big reader, so the fact that I read 1700 pages in a week and a half makes me almost proud of myself - if it wasn't for me having to neglect everything else in my life to do it :-). JR was really patient and encouraging, though, so it was fun. He even endured all my stories explaining what I was reading! I really enjoyed the books and I can't wait for the fourth one to come out in August. I'm also way excited for the movie that's coming out in December. I'll have JR watch the movie with me so he can see what it's all about, because my stories don't do it justice! I know all of you out there have probably already read the series and I know I'm a little slow, but I figure better late than never! Please comment and tell me about your love of the series so I know I'm not alone!

It has begun...

So, Isaac has finally hit that boy age where he bangs his head on stuff so much it looks like I abuse him! The worst bang yet was this morning. Of course it had to happen five minutes before church was suppose to start, and it had to happen on the Sunday that JR is out of town. I didn't see him hit his head, but it didn't take me long to notice the quarter sized ball forming on his forehead. I felt so bad! It seriously stuck up off his head a half inch AT LEAST! Luckily it has gone down a bunch, so the pictures don't do it justice. I tried to put ice on it, but that's like trying to give a cat a bath. My mom always says to put glycerin on bruises...whatever that is. I think I need to make a trip to the store and ask for some because I have a feeling this won't be the only time I'll need it...

I love his face in this one :-).

You can't really see his bruise in this one because of the flash,
but it was too cute not to include it. Look at those eyes!

Poor kid. I hope it doesn't get worse tomorrow.
But if it does I'll take more pictures...for posterity :-).

Disney Princess Time!!!

Yesterday Cali and I got to go see Disney on Ice "Princess Wishes". I went with my mom, two of my sisters, and their two girls. It was a girls day out and it was so much fun. Cali and her cousin Brianne had so much fun dressing up in their princess costumes and watching all of the Disney Princesses out on the Ice. It was nice doing something special with Cali, since Isaac tends to get more attention I think. We all had a blast and it was so nice spending the day with my family. Thanks for the tickets mom!!!

They were both so excited!

Here's a little video of Cali and Brianne twirling after the show. Cali asked me today if we could go see Disney on Ice again tomorrow. I think she enjoyed herself :-).

I get to see Frank Caliendo...YEAH!!!

So, this guy is hilarious and guess what...I'm going to see him in a week and a half!!! Frank Caliendo is going to be the comedian at the Novell Brainshare Conference and I'm going to be like right on the front row...and I might even get to shake his hand! When JR told me he was performing for Brainshare I about peed my pants. JR introduced me to him a little while ago and I've been a huge fan ever since. Oh, and for all you Collective Soul fans out there, they are performing at Brainshare also and I get to meet them too :-). It's nice to have a hubby who has connections. Last year was better, though. I got a picture with the Goo Goo Dolls!!! Yeah me :-). I'll take lots of pictures of Frank and Collective Soul to show all of you later. Until then, enjoy this video of Frank:

Cali the Decorator

Cali has always had an interesting way of playing. Most of the time, instead of actually "playing" with her toys, she likes to decorate. Well, I guess it would still be considered playing, but the way she does it is so facinating! She's definitely got a sence of order and organization (she must get that from me :-). I'll go up the stairs and find that she's put her books, necklaces, or other items on each step and in a particular pattern or order. I know she's my daughter, so of course I'm biased, but it really is amazing to me how she puts things together. Here are a few pics of some of her creations:

This is just a small taste of the patterns Cali has created.

During Christmas time, right after we put our tree up,
Cali decided that I was taking too long to decorate it,
so she did it herself!

Yesterday, I tryied to go up the stairs, only to find this -
the monkey throne. It cracked me up how quickly she had
thrown it together, and how well the monkey was accessorized -
with sunglasses and bracelets. The only thing he was missing
were two smaller monkeys standing on either side fanning him
with large leaves.

She was so proud of her work!

Our Talkative LIttle Monster

I've always been amazed at how well Cali talks. She talked well even at a young age. Well, if it's possible, I think Isaac talks better and even more than Cali did at his age! I think we're in trouble! Here's a video of Isaac saying his new phrase, "All Done".

He's ten months old today and is such a big boy! (in every sence of the word :-) This video also shows Isaac's two most recent accomplishments: pulling himself up to furniture and crawling. He discovered both last weekend. Now I'm really in trouble!
